march 12 - march 14The 2008 Wollongong Wacky Wanderers Event has been run and won. congratulations to all officials and participants for a successful, fun filled weekend. So join the Wollongong Wacky Wanderers on March 12,13 and 14 2010 and once again help raise much needed funds for The Shepherd Centre. Last year in 2008 the Wollongong Wacky Wanderers raised enough money to put 5 children through our program for one year. With over 200 children in NSW and more than 20 of those children in The Wollongong Shepherd Centre your help is needed. Give a Deaf Child a Voice. The funds raised go to providing deaf and hearing imparied children auditory verbal therapy giving them the skills to listen to speak. it costs approx. $12,500 per child per year to continue offering services such as centre base therapy, home visitation, and specialised early intervention to enable a deaf or hearing impaired child the chance to speak. This year the Shepherd Centre will recieve approximately 28% funding for its program from the government. The remaining funds needed to continue the wonderful work will com from generous people like you. so click on the Grgistration button on your right and join the Wollongong WAcky Wanderers in raising funds and awareness for The Shepherd Centre. 2009 will once again be an undisclosed destination. the one thing that is promised is thayou will have fun, meet new people, and raise much needed funds. Once again this year the Wollongong Wacky Wanderers will be stopping at one of the centres and meet the children and families that benefit from the programs The Shepherd Centre offers. Families have been benefiting from The Shepherd Centre's programs since 1970 and in the past 9 years the Wollongong Wacky Wanderers have helped raise over 1 million dollars. keep up the good work and join in the fun.
